"They said I couldn’t do it alone" — But I just finished making a fully localized Japanese visual novel.

In a recent 1-on-1 at work, my manager told me, “You can’t do anything by yourself.” Well—guess what? A few weeks later, I’ve successfully rebuilt my Ren’Py project from scratch, fully localized the UI into Japanese, and now I have a fully working visual novel in my hands.
From an English-dominated default interface to a completely customized Japanese GUI with save, load, and exit buttons that politely respond in “はい” and “いいえ”, it now boots up looking like a proper domestic commercial release.
I spent days untangling screens.rpy, options.rpy, and even writing out translations manually in tl/japanese/common.rpy. And yes—it works.
Maybe somewhere out there, my boss is quietly nodding in approval. (Probably not.)
All that’s left is test play, asset packaging, and a final build. I’m almost ready to upload.
Whether you can isn’t the point. Whether you do is.
