Translating “Stretch” – Between Cultures and Contexts
Stretch (English Trial Version) » Devlog

As the developer of Stretch, I’ve been working hard to translate every line of this 150,000-word story into English.
It’s not just a matter of language. It’s a matter of context. Japanese school life doesn’t always translate well, especially with terms like “学年” or “職業体験.” I had to rethink expressions, adapt cultural references, and occasionally rewrite scenes to make them resonate with international players.
My goal? A faithful, but fully playable English version. Not a textbook translation. A story that feels natural.
