A Visual Novel With No BGM – Why We Chose Silence
Stretch - English Version » Devlog

One of the most unusual design choices in Stretch was to remove all background music.
Instead of traditional BGM, we used over 350 ambient and environmental sound effects to create immersion. From rustling trees to hallway echoes, each soundscape was carefully selected to reflect the mood and setting of every scene.
We wanted readers to feel like they were there, not just listening to a soundtrack.
Try it yourself when the game launches on Steam tomorrow – and see how silence can speak volumes.
